How to choose your Wedding Photographer

OH MY GOD Finding YOUR perfect photographer feels like the biggest mission right!? but if I can be any help – here’s a few things that are so important to consider when you’re searching for a wedding photographer near you!

1. FIND A PHOTOGRAPHER WITH A PERSONALITY THAT FITS WITH YOURS.

So when your wedding day finally comes around, you want to find someone that your going to be super comfortable with, someone that takes that awkwardness straight out of you! and the key here is to find the personality that you feel super at ease and comfortable around! Like that old friend you’ve know for years. Definitely schedule a phone call or in-person meeting with the photographer you’re considering so you can get a feel for how your personalities mesh.

2. FIND A PHOTOGRAPHER WITH THE CAPABILITY TO CAPTURE THE ENTIRE DAY.

As a photographer, I know there is just soooo much more to a wedding day than the pretty sunset photos of the bride & groom. The real test of an amazing photographer is how well they handle indoor lighting, those unplanned spontaneous moments and capturing your entire story not just moments.
Yessss, the bride & groom portraits are super important for you to remember, hang on your walls and your socials but so is your first dance, the reactions during speeches and the moment you walk down the aisle.

Ask to see a full gallery from the photographer you’re considering! A full gallery will let you see what aspects of the day they put most attention on, how their style is in each moment. Plus you get to see how the photographer tells the story of their wedding day! This will help you decide whether or not you should hire that photographer – this is a MUST!

3. FIND A PHOTOGRAPHER WITH AMAZING REVIEWS.

While talking to a photographer can help you get to know their personality, its their reviews that will really tell you what type of person they are, how effective they are with organisation, and their overall lasting impression on their brides, how comfortable they make those they are capturing feel.

4. FIND A PHOTOGRAPHER WITH GOOD COMMUNICATION

As soon as you send your enquiry make sure the photographer you’re considering is timely and personal with their responses. No, they don’t need to answer you within 5 mins but if it takes over 5 days to hear back from a photographer without an automatic email explaining why….you might want to keep looking.
Photographers are busy people, no doubt, but their communication will only get worse after you book them.

The right photographer for you is out there, although they won’t be perfect, they will have the attitude & vibe you’ll want to surround yourself with on your special day! Do not settle, You DESERVE an awesome photographer and an amazing experience on your wedding day.

I wish you all the best in finding the right photographer ♡
